Paul Brocklebank: Mr. Brocklebank currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Canal Insurance Company, Canal Indemnity Company, and the Wm. R. Timmons Agency. Prior to assuming that role in 2017, Mr. Brocklebank served as Canal’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer. Before joining Canal in 2010, Mr. Brocklebank held senior leadership roles at United National Group, SJA Agency, and Royal Sun Alliance, all focused on property and casualty insurance underwriting. He is a graduate of Westminster College, Carnegie Mellon University, and Duquesne University School of Law, where he earned his B.A., M.A., and J.D., respectively, He currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
Lansing E. Crane: Mr. Crane served, from 1995 to 2007 as the Chief Executive Officer of Crane & Co., Inc., since 1801 a manufacturer of currency and specialty papers. He had previously served on its Board of Directors beginning in 1985 as the first, sixth generation member and the only member not employed at the company. Mr. Crane served on the Board for 22 years and was Chairman from 1993 to 2006. Prior to his career at Crane & Co., Mr. Crane practiced law in Connecticut for 25 years. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Wells’ Enterprises, Inc., family-owned since 1913, and the makers of Blue Bunny ice cream. He previously was Board Chair of both Ginsey Home Solutions and SOG Specialty Knives and Tools. He recently resigned as a Trustee of the Austen Riggs Center psychiatric hospital after 20 years of service. In 2018, was appointed a Director of the Stimson Center, a Washington-based think tank. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the Executive-in-Residence of the Loyola Family Business center in Chicago, Illinois. He previously was a Director of the Family Firm Institute and a member of the Advisory Board of Family Business Magazine. He resides in Boulder, Colorado.
Ann Pelham Cullen: Ms. Pelham spent her professional career in the media industry, retiring in 2008 after 10 years as Publisher of Legal Times, a print and online newspaper focused on law and lobbying in Washington, D.C. She had previously worked at Legal Times, part of ALM, in several other capacities for almost 20 years, beginning as a reporter in 1988 and subsequently serving as Managing Editor, Executive Editor, and Associate Publisher prior to being named Publisher. She serves on the Duke Board of Trustees and is a past President of the Duke Alumni Association. Ann also sits on the board of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. She currently resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
William H. Pelham: Mr. Pelham is the president and founder of Pelham Architects, LLC (1983), and a Managing Partner of RPM Partnership, LLC (1999). He currently serves on the Christ Church Episcopal School Board, the Camperdown Academy School Board, the Fine Arts Center Partners, the Jean T. and Heyward G. Pelham Foundation, the Poinsett Club Foundation (vice president) and the Poinsett Club Building & Grounds Committee. He previously served on other boards, including the Peace Center board (vice chair), the Clemson University Foundation, Artisphere (president), the Clemson Architectural Foundation (president), the Poinsett Club (president), BankGreenville (board chair), The Warehouse Theatre (president), the Sigal Music Museum, and the Greenville Museum Association. He co-founded the Fine Arts Center’s Art of Architecture program. He currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
Charles M. Timmons, Jr.: Mr. Timmons served Canal Insurance Company, Canal Indemnity Company, and the Wm. R. Timmons Agency, LLC in various leadership positions between 1972 and 2009, and most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of those entities before retiring at the end of 2009. Mr. Timmons also previously served on the Boards of Canal Insurance Company, Canal Indemnity Company, Central Investments Corporation, the USC Business Partnership Foundation, and Greenville Artisphere. He currently serves on the USC Insurance School Advisory Board and resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
William R. Timmons, III: Mr. Timmons has served Canal Insurance Company, Canal Indemnity Company, and the Wm. R. Timmons Agency, LLC in various leadership positions since 1976, and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Investments of each of those entities. He also serves as Secretary of Central Realty Corporation, President of Timber-lands, L.P. and Lullwater Syndicate, Inc. Mr. Timmons currently serves on the Boards of Timber-lands, Lullwater Syndicate, Inc., Canal Indemnity Company and Central Realty Corporation. He also serves on the Board of the Palmetto Promise Institute, Furman University Foundation, and the Peace Center. He resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
Gregory Vezzosi: Mr. Vezzosi retired in 2016 from a long and distinguished career in the insurance industry, most recently serving in an executive leadership role for CNA. Prior to CNA, Mr. Vezzosi was EVP and Chief Operating Officer for the Argonaut Group. He has also served as SVP for Specialty Commercial Lines at St. Paul Travelers and as SVP and Chief Underwriting Officer for the Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Companies. He began his insurance career at the Chubb Insurance Group, where he rose to more progressive leadership roles over his 20 years there. Mr. Vezzosi is a graduate of Brown University, where he studied Economics. He resides in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Nora Crouch: Ms. Crouch is a former Fortune 500 financial services executive, most recently serving as Chief Accounting Officer for Markel Corporation until her retirement in 2020. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter, during her tenure with Markel, she served on the Board of Directors of Markel Ventures, the company’s in-house private equity investment arm, and on the Board of Directors of AMF Bakery Systems, Markel Ventures’ first portfolio company acquisition. Ms. Crouch currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors of the James Madison University College of Business, the Board of Directors of Richmond National Group, and the Board of Directors for John Hancock Life Insurance Company USA and its various subsidiaries. She currently resides in Richmond, Virginia.
